Riding Out the Storm in Tampa Foreclosure Homes
Along the Gulf of Mexico, hurricane season 2007 includes a welter of Tampa foreclosure homes awaiting new owners. Tampa, the third largest city in Florida, is part of a four county spread including St Petersburg and Clearwater, that is known as the Tampa Bay Area and houses more than 2.7 million residents. Hillsborough County alone listed over 1000 new foreclosure filings in July, 1 for every 486 households. Sellers in Tampa struggle to get interest in their properties, close to 20 months of housing inventory across the Bay area means buyers have never fared better in terms of negotiating power. There are still plenty of new construction units, and sellers less under pressure are pricing keenly...

What's great about Florida seminars in the Tampa Bay area? Well I'm glad you asked! For one thing, Florida is a great place to visit, especially during the cold winter months! The temperatures are near perfection, match this up with an extremely high percentage of sunny days (we are the "Sunshine State!") and great local attractions - This equals a fantastic seminar destination! I can tell you - I wouldn't want to live or work anywhere else! When I first moved down to the Tampa Bay area of Florida from frosty New Hampshire I was very impressed with the kindness and friendliness of the many people I met. The current housing market inventory across the country at the present time is challenging to say the least. The same holds to be very...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tidbits
Those who live in the Miami area may - worried that they will be shunned from restaurants and country clubs - claim to be Dolphins fans, growing fins and living underwater in their spare time. But Miami, like any other city in a state with multiple football teams, likely has its fair share of Tampa Bay fans. Perhaps these folks once lived in Tampa Bay and moved to Miami. Perhaps they grew up watching Tampa Bay or know someone who played for them. Perhaps, they (gasp!) would just rather be a Buccaneer than a Dolphin. For you Tampa Bay fans lingering in the city of Miami, this article is one you'll likely want to pirate. Every NFL team has its fair share of history and trivia. But, the Tampa Bay...
Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs. Boston Red Sox
Tampa's RHP Seth McClung notched his fifth straight start of allowing two or fewer runs, though he is only 1-1 in that stretch. The key has been keeping the ball down. "I'm not concerned with my wins and losses," McClung said. "All I can do is put my team in a position to win. Whatever happens after I leave the ballgame is out of my control." CF Joey Gathright has had trouble getting breaks on balls. Wednesday, he made a bad play trying to set up for Jermaine Dye's sacrifice fly and was unable to prevent Scott Podsednik from scoring the tying run. OF Rocco Baldelli played right field instead of his customary center field in an extended spring training game on Wednesday and the Rays will at least...

One major concern for home buyers in today's market is jobs. Where can they relocate to an area with a great and proliferating job market? Traditionally buyers have looked to major market cities to provide employment opportunities that will be both profitable and long-term. To some extent this still holds true. However as we see the decline of many traditional job markets; we are also seeing a new crop of big employers cropping up. Compost - Do It in the Garden
So you are considering a new garden plot. If you plan on a 25 by 50 foot garden with 3" of compost to get it started that is going to require 312.5 cubic feet or about 12 cubic yards of compost. Realizing that a third of a compost pile can be lost due to moisture and carbon dioxide loss while it is being made, about 18 yards need to be produced which means in turn a pile 3 feet by 3 feet by 54 feet. This is a lot of material and a lot of work. While there is still work involved, the material can be home grown. The simplest way of composting in this situation is to perform an old farming practice developed before the days of chemical herbicides and fertilizers, green manuring. Just as a compost pile...

Buying Off Plan - The Big Scam
This is where investors purchase a property that doesn't exist. I'm not referring to buying a make-believe property! I mean one where you're relying on a development company to build the property. How does the process work? You may have seen eye-catching brochures for the development of a fancy new luxury resort. You're invited to invest in this property and receive a discount if you do it early. You're told you can sell during construction or after project completion for a huge profit. This sounds too good to be true! Well, let's look at this from the developer's point of view. The developer has enough money to draft the plans and print enticing advertisements for his proposed development...

Daylighting Window Films - Taking Window Film...
In the dark ages of window films consumers had to make a tough choice between two evils. Do they select a dark window film to block glare and heat, or do they have a mirror like window film installed? Either way; the Hobbesian Choice had a down side. Today's window films like VISTA Window Film created a new dynamic and resulting solution for consumers. Superior glare rejection and heat blocking while providing visible light and optimum clarity. No longer the "dark days" or what we used to call "Scotch Gloom" , but rather a perfect balance. The advances made in the last few years in the area of thin films and nanotechnology have been the vehicle for these advances in performance. Here in the Tampa...
V.I.P. or S.A.D.?: It's up to You
I was preparing for a couple of presentations last week for the Women On the Way (W.O.W.) program at our local St. Petersburg College (my A.A. /A.S. degree alma mater). I am always honored to go back to my old "stomping grounds" to do presentations, but even more so for this group, as most of the people connected with the WOW program are coming back to school after some major life transition. This program is designed to be a support for their success. They are my heroes, as they all use this support network to help each other be successful. I do believe the world could learn something from WOW. The workshop that I was presenting was entitled The Secrets Of Relationship Success: Know Your Roots and...

She writes, "And then the smell of roses drew him out to my balcony, where he looked up. He saw a gigantic, triangular craft, silent and observing him. He said it hovered, soundless, for ten minutes or so and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend." Kucinich was later asked if he really did see a UFO by Tim Russert of NBC News during a debate involving the 2008 Democratic presidential candidate hopefuls and replied, "I did...you have to keep in...

The top of your chest to your hips is the easiest way to think about the core region. This part of the body includes numerous muscles in each of these defined regions. Think about all those little back muscles that your doctor speaks about when you are...

Have you gotten scared by the media reporting on the recent events in Paris? Phil almost did, but he knows better than just listening to the hubbub. Check with him what's the real story on these events, and if they really should hinder you from traveling to Paris. If you watched CNN or Fox News like I did a few evenings ago, you might have been impressed at the student demonstrations in France. Both TV channels had us sold on the idea Paris was being mobbed by the angry multitude. Pictures of Mad Max-like police trucks hosing thousands of protesters. Scenes of massive gatherings around Bastille square. Interviews of malcontent students. Some pyrotechnics to boot! Golly! Though I often travel to...
Travel Efficiently and Travel Light
There's a lot of grumbling at the airports today over surcharges for overweight luggage. We all need to rethink this "more is better" and plan our packing more efficiently. The old large suitcases, which came in 30" and 31" sizes, are no longer practical. Because of the sheer volume you can carry in these big cases you will be sure to go overweight. Most of the airlines are allowing 50lbs per case. The good news is you are usually allowed to bring two cases as baggage, along with a carryon and a personal bag.
